About the Editor
 

Allan Metz is a reference librarian at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, who is a long-time fan of Blondie and has written about and researched female rock and pop singers in his endeavors as a music historian and bibliographer. He is co-editor (along with Carol Benson) of The Madonna Companion: Two Decades of Commentary (New York: Schirmer Books, 1999), which is part of the Companion Series (click on Companion Series link on that page. See also pp. 12-13 of the complete Schirmer catalog for this series in pdf format, which requires Adobe Acrobat). He also has compiled bibliographical articles on popular music for the Bulletin of Bibliography: "Women in Rock and Roll: A Three-Part Bibliography" ("All Female New Wave Rock Bands of the 1980s--The Go-Go's, The Bangles, Bananarama; "'Tell It Like It T-I-Is': The B-52's"; "The Pretenders and Chrissie Hynde") 55, 4(December 1998): 265-300); "The Musical Legacy of Blondie: An Annotated Bibliography" 56, 4(December 1999): 189-217; "Two Rock/Pop Bibliographies: I. The Cardigans, II Garbage" 57, 2(June 2000): 107-133; and “Blondie and Deborah Harry: A Comprehensive Bibliography” (forthcoming 2001). The author plans to continue working on other music-related projects such as being the webmaster of two other Blondie sites (Blondie: Legacy, Influence, Legend and The Blondie Anthology), which serve to preview this book. Blondie: Legacy, Influence, Legend was selected by VH1 as one of the five best web sites on Blondie.
