Allan Metz is a reference librarian at Drury
University in Springfield, Missouri, who is a long-time fan of Blondie
and has written about and researched female rock and pop singers in his
endeavors as a music historian and bibliographer. He is co-editor (along
with Carol Benson) of The
Madonna Companion: Two Decades of Commentary (New York: Schirmer
Books, 1999), which is part of the Companion
Series (click on Companion Series link on that page. See also pp. 12-13
of the complete Schirmer
catalog for this series in pdf format, which requires Adobe Acrobat).
He also has compiled bibliographical articles on popular music for the
Bulletin of Bibliography:
