In 1984 we thought it was all over. The best new wave band in the world
called it a day and Blondie were no more. Who could have
banked on them coming back in 1999 with a new album that had pop poppets
hiding under the tables. Feisty and still ferociously good,
Blondie stormed the charts with Maria, hitting the number one spot.
And the man responsible for penning that song, which marked the
rebirth of Blondie....
