Don't blame Deborah Harry for being a star. The girl can't help it.
As the alluring center point of new-wave pop group Blondie, Harry got more than her fair share of attention in the late '70s and early '80s. Nevermind the fact that Blondie was a group, as the band was forced to point out several times during its heyday. Without even trying, the platinum-haired goddess often stood solo in the spotlight, and tensions within the band developed. It inevitably contributed to Blondie's demise in 1982.
Fast-forward 17 years, and Harry is still the cool-as-ice ringleader of the reunited group, a precursor to stars such as Madonna and Courtney Love. During Blondie's fun and enthusiastic performance Saturday at the Aerial Theater, however, there were no pangs of jealousy to be found among band members. The music was most important....
