"Debtalk" by Victor Bockris
INTRODUCTION
When I was looking through my Blondie files researching "Blondie's Punk Roots" for this book, I came across these random unpublished passages of Debbie talking about, among other subjects, aliens, fame, politics, love and illusion. Reading these passages back today reminds me of how much I learned from talking with Debbie and, I have to add, Chris. One of the things I admired most about them was that they had succeeded at the complex task of collaborating on their lives and careers, making them one and the same thing, while being in love. Many of the things Debbie said could just as easily have been said by Chris, so shared was their thinking. Not that they agreed on everything. Rock ‘n' roll is made out of tension and there was a lot of healthy tension between Debbie and Chris....
