Who are we?

We're people who love contra and other traditional community dancing, and the live string band music that's driven the dance for centuries.

We're an informal, grass-roots, non-profit group which has been organizing dances in the Springfield area since 1991. We sponsor dances about twice a month (including at Camp Shawio), take trips to other dance communities, and host Solefest, an annual gathering for dancers from throughout the midwest. And here's nfo for Solefest 2004.

We're all volunteers (except musicians get paid).
